ThankYou

Belgium's only dedicated children's hospital HUDERF would like to give its young in-patients a safe place to play outside: a playground adapted to their special needs, where they can slide, jump, swing, rock and climb.

A place to laugh and enjoy spending time with their brothers and sisters. A place to escape the confines of their hospital room and illness. A place to create precious memories. A place to be a child.

Please help Kids Care asbl to make this dream a reality.

They say "It takes a village to raise a child" and for this playground to become a reality by spring 2016 - thereby bringing smiles to countless children's faces - we certainly need the help of the wider community. Of you!

A donation would, of course, be very welcome, but you could also support this project in other ways: by volunteering to help at a fundraising event; by organising your own fundraising event; by asking your church, school or other groups to select this project as the focus of their charitable effort this year; or simply, by encouraging your friends and family to help.

We can not do this without you. Please help anyway you can!

The Playground Project

University Children's Hospital Queen Fabiola (HUDERF) has already earmarked a piece of land next to the hospital's school for the future outdoor playground and chosen a design from among several submitted by playground equipment providers.

Thanks to the special floor covering and carefully chosen, adapted play equipment, the playground will provide in-patients and their siblings with many important ... and FUN ... sensory experiences such as swinging, rocking, sliding, jumping and climbing.

Goal: 100.000 euros

Fundraising hs gone extremely well! We reached our target just 18 months after launching the campaign! We are delighted and very grateful to all donors - large and small - volunteers and event organisers! We simply could not have done it without your generous support.  As a result, construction has begun on the playground and it will open on May 28th, 2016.

Fundraising does, however, continue as we would like to put a fence around the playground to keep young patients and their siblings safe by preventing them from wandering off. So, please, if you would like to support this project, please don't hold back!!
